The People Power Revolution and supporters of Cory Aquino protested the results. The Filipino people were outraged that he cheated in the elections.
Because of national and foreign pressure, Ferdinand Marcos gave up his presidency.
Mr.Liongson and his companions were happy that Ferdinand Marcos was finally removed from his presidential seat.

President Ronald Reagan allowed the family of Marcos to be exiled in Hawaii. He died in exile in 1989.
